Recent Update: [May 1, 2009] The believers in Fourou have done at least 3 evangelistic outreaches (i.e., showing the Jesus film), as well as made a number of trips there to answer questions, etc. about Christ and the Christian life. You have prayed for this village and the Lord has been blessing. Mamadou says that there are 10 believers there now. A few years ago there were none. Mamadou would like to see a church planted there, but for this they need some trained leaders in this village and this is his prayer request. They, the leaders in the Fourou church, are planning on going to Lollé tomorrow to start training some of the believers (especially the men) in Lollé what it means to be a Christian, how to live the Christian life and how to respond to people's question about Christ and the Christian life. They are looking to make this a weekly training session… . It is great to see the church in Fourou take the initiative in this undertaking. We have encouraged them in this area and now it is gratifying to see them exploring new ways of expanding the church in Fourou and out in the villages. Thanks for praying. |

| 2008 Update Well, this is our last EPL from Fourou and Mali. Tomorrow we head up to Bamako and then on June 2 we fly over to Dakar for Jennifer's graduation (June 7). The next day June 8 we, Philip, Jennifer, Laura and I will fly to Paris and then after a couple of days there fly onto the States. We are scheduled to arrive in Tucson June 12. Yes, I did mention Philip. Presently he is near El Centro, California working for a mining company for the summer. He was able to get time off and will be coming to Dakar for Jennifer's graduation. So pray for safety for all who are traveling to Dakar and then from there to their next destination. Pray for us that we would have safe travel to Bamako - especially that we would have no flat tires. |
